When my last home, in Brighton, sold on the day it hit the market I took it as a sign to turn my love of interiors into my next career. I'd created somewhere three sets of buyers wanted so much that they all offered the asking price.


It was very different to the stress of my previous move, when my flat stayed on the market for months. I can see now there were lots of simple things that could have been done to improve the presentation and result in a much smoother sale!

Calm, cosy, organised rooms are irresistible to buyers — and so much more relaxing to live in. I get a real buzz catching up with an excited client who's just accepted an offer. And it's wonderful to witness the weight of indecision lift during their home staging consultation or decluttering session.

Getting back to that house in Brighton . . . after it sold I studied interior design and home staging around my work as a magazine journalist. Jane Lee Interiors launched in 2019. I still write regularly about home editing, styling and design, am a member of the Home Staging Association and the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers, and hold a Houzz Best of Service award 2021.


I live in a Sussex village that overlooks that South Downs and am always on the lookout for my next renovation project.
