With most buyers searching online these days, your property needs to make an immediate impact before they click away.

Home staging is much more than rearranging furniture and cushions: it creates an aspirational lifestyle that connects emotionally with your target market. Tired, cluttered rooms, or ones that are overly bold or too neutral, aren’t going to get anyone excited about viewing.

We start with a consultation when I'll share all the advice you need. By the end you’ll have all your questions answered and be clear about where to prioritise, both inside and out. These are available via email or video call, and in-person within Sussex.

You're then ready to implement my suggestions yourself. If you'd like me to help with the transformation why not book a Silver or Gold package; the latter also includes a professional shoot, where I return with a professional interiors photographer.

In today’s Instagram world, properties with top-quality images attract more viewings so it’s an investment that’s well worth considering: as you can see from this stunning SEAFRONT PROJECT. Afterwards you receive a set of photos to email over to your estate agent and that you can keep as a memento.

Still not convinced? Have a look at my REVIEWS and see what I'm like to work with: most of my home staging clients spend around 0.01% of their property value on home staging: it's much more cost-effective than being forced to reduce your asking price by tens of thousands if nobody bites.

If you’re already on the market and not getting much interest, it’s never too late to give your property the competitive edge.

Home staging sussex

the number one reason why two identical houses in the same street might achieve wildly differing values comes down to presentation and whether the buyer can actually visualise themselves living in your home

Home staging is already common practice in America, Scandinavia and Australia, and is growing in popularity here.

Here’s why . . .

  • 94% of estate agents agree that staging increases the number of viewings and 86% report that staged properties sell up to three times faster than non-staged ones.

  • The average time it takes a property to receive an offer after staging is 45 days; the average time non-staged properties sit on the market is 108 days.

  • Home buyers spend more time viewing a staged home.

  • 78% of estate agents confirm that staging boosts the offer value by up to 10% and 100% recommend staging from the outset of marketing.

If you’re an estate agent, developer or owner of a property that’s empty or partially furnished, and want to maximise its marketing potential, I can put you in touch with an excellent furniture rental contact (they design, deliver, build, stage and style, then take everything away for you).

why stage your home?

I've moved several times and totally understand that you don't want to splash out on somewhere you're leaving. That's why I work hard to get the best out of what you already own. Home staging isn't just about making rooms look attractive, it's a powerful marketing tool that makes properties more appealing to buyers - boosting viewings and offers. During our consultation I'll provide lots of simple, cost-effective ideas that pack a punch and ultimately how much you decide to invest is up to you. Some ideas won't cost you a penny. Only 10% of buyers are able to visualise a property's potential. If you want yours to be one that sells them the lifestyle they're after, staging is the answer.

is it worth staging smaller properties?

I believe every home can benefit and carefully tailor my pricing and suggestions to your home, budget and target buyer.

where in sussex do you visit?

I live in a village near Brighton & Hove and cover most of East and West Sussex. These are the main areas I can visit but I'm happy to travel further afield if my schedule allows. Online staging and decluttering consultations are also available if you'd prefer or are outside the county. Brighton & Hove Burgess Hill Cowfold Cuckfield Ditchling Findon Fulking Hassocks Haywards Heath Henfield Horsham Hurstpierpoint Keymer Lancing Lewes Partridge Green Portslade Poynings Shoreham Small Dole Shermanbury Shoreham Southwick Steyning Storrington Upper Beeding Woodmancote Worthing

it sounds easy enough, can i have a go myself?

Yes of course, there's several things you can do to improve the presentation. But as a professional home stager, I know how to create that all-important emotional connection and lifestyle that hooks buyers in, which is harder than it looks! During staging consultations I point out the areas you needn't worry about splashing out on, which can easily save you the cost of my fee - and sometimes thousands of pounds and a lot of stress and upheaval. It's then up to you if you get me back to help or tick off all my recommendations yourself before going on the market. If you'd still like to have a go, ask friends and family for their honest feedback - it can be difficult to look at your home with a fresh pair of eyes, especially if you've lived there for a while. Concentrate on the exterior and entrance and main rooms that will be photographed At the very least I'd recommend you depersonalise, declutter and deep-clean everywhere before the marketing shots are taken. And flowers and plants always make an appearance when I'm styling a photoshoot. Book an initial chat and I'll give you some more tips!

does home staging guarantee a sale?

I don't believe anyone can promise an immediate sale because other factors come into the equation, like the asking price*, economic climate and location. But staging certainly gives you a better chance. Follow my recommendations and your property can't fail to grab the attention of buyers. Making a great first impression is what it's all about. *The asking price is for you and your estate agent to decide. Unless you're happy to wait and possibly reduce the price later, I'd personally recommend a realistic / tempting asking price teamed with great presentation.

what if my property's empty?

Empty properties actually look smaller than they really are. Buyers also find it much harder to visualise where their furniture will go - and whether it will fit. If you're an estate agent, property developer or own a property that's empty or partially furnished, I can put you in touch with some excellent furniture rental companies (they can design, deliver, build, stage and style, then take it all away again). Another option is beautiful virtual mock-up images of how your rooms would look if they were furnished. Get in touch and I can point you in the right direction.

I need to replace some tired accessories, can you help?

I'll make general suggestions during our home staging consultation. And if you book some hands-on staging, or simplify & style sessions, you can also pick my brain while I'm there. If you're after something specific, I provide a personal shopping service and can source soft furnishings and accessories that complement a room and are on-budget.

i'm on the market, is it too late?

It's never too late! The investment in home staging will always be a fraction of any price reduction you're considering (and several other moving-related expenses). Why not find out what home staging could do for your sale first?

can we work remotely?

Absolutely! I've always offered remote consultations and work remotely with people both inside and outside Sussex. If you're selling, I'll just need to see some photos or a short video in advance. If you're already on the market your Rightmove link is a great start. We can then chat through everything via email, or on a phone or Zoom call - whichever you prefer. Decluttering support is also available remotely.

do you work with holiday home and Airbnb owners?

Yes I do! Arrange a free chat and we can go from there.

why should you choose me?

I pride myself on giving a friendly, professional service - you can read what my clients say about working with me on the Testimonials page. I'm a certified home stager and organiser, a member of the Home Staging Association, the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO) and hold a Best of Houzz Service award, 2021.
